familywealth.hk — Family offices and family wealth in Hong Kong
familywealth.hk is an independently run Hong Kong family-wealth information site edited by Family Office Governance Review Editorial. It covers one subject: which legal, tax and governance tools institutionalise family wealth in Hong Kong, and what each one's conditions, costs and limits are. The scope includes every statutory condition of the Inland Revenue (Amendment) (Tax Concessions for Family-owned Investment Holding Vehicles) Ordinance 2023 and the 2026 amendment bill, the types and set-up costs of single, multi and virtual family offices, the SFC's licensing position on family offices, the division of work between family trusts and family charters, next-generation succession and governance mechanisms, charities and family foundations under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance, the role of insurance on the family balance sheet, the link between the New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme and family office structures, and compliance notes for Mainland families.
The site does not cover the detail of wills and probate, a full course on trust law or a comparison of private banks and external asset managers; each of those gets one section only. It also does not cover product recommendations, investment advice or the fee schedules of individual law firms or trust companies. Sources are limited to publicly verifiable documents: circulars, press releases, bills and guidelines from the Inland Revenue Department, the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, Invest Hong Kong, the Securities and Futures Commission, the Insurance Authority and the Legislative Council, the Hong Kong Trustees' Association best practice guides, and professional-firm briefings marked as secondary. Every page carries an update date and sources; figures carry currency, date and origin, and where a figure cannot be verified the page describes the mechanism and defers to the latest official document.
The site is not a law firm, accounting firm, trust company, insurer or licensed corporation, sells nothing, accepts no mandates, makes no referrals and carries on no sales or promotional activity in Mainland China. Corrections and additional material can be sent through the site's message form.

Editorial principles
- We compile only public material from insurers, banks, regulators and official statistics, citing source and date per item; where the source is silent, we do not infer.
- We separate guaranteed from non-guaranteed, fact from opinion, regulation from practice; illustrations, back-tests and past performance do not indicate future results.
- We do not recommend products or promise returns, approvals or tax outcomes; personalised advice is the responsibility of licensed or exempt institutions and their appointed representatives.
- Cross-border content states the applicable jurisdiction; readers should obtain advice in their own jurisdiction.
- If you spot an error or outdated figure, tell us via the contact page; corrections are dated.
Editorial policy
Every article follows one process: define a single question, consult public documents from regulators, insurers and official statistics and record each source with its date, then have a second editor cross-check figures, terminology and the version of the rules cited. Pages are dated when updated. Guaranteed and non-guaranteed items, and facts and opinions, are labelled separately; nothing is inferred where sources are silent.
